In the age of monsters and magic lived a beautiful princess.
Deep in the secluded Illustri forest, from her perch atop a tall, tall tower, she watched over all the lands.
During the night, she used her wondrous magic to cast a ward against all the evil forces of the Ancient Threat.
During the day, she locked herself within her tower, never showing her face to the bright, warm sun.
One starry night, a wandering trader happened upon the tower after many days of perilous travel.
He had longed to see the beautiful princess' magic for himself.
As he watched, The Princess gracefully pirouetted across the balcony, her luscious gown billowing around her in pure majesty.
Her thin, perfectly shaped lips parted in silent changing as she danced round and round.
But her hair -- Yes, it was her long, dark hair glistening under the moonlight that most caught The Traveller's attention.
For The Traveller, it was love at first sight.
Unable to stop himself, The Traveller emerged from the brush in a frenzy, startling The Princess.
Terrified and overwhelmed by the disruption, she fled into the tower and locked herself there.
The Traveller begged and pleaded for her to reveal herself to him, so that they might have a converation, but it took days for The Princess to relent.
Finally, as the sun climbed high into the sky, The Princess uttered her first words to The Traveler. Her voice was like silk to his ears.
Thus began the relation ship between The Lonely Princess and The Lone Trader.
As the months passed, she came to see him as an inevitable part of her world -- as though he was always meant to be there. He came to see her as the light that penetrated his dark nights lit up his world.
One day, The Princess decided she would reveal herself to him.
That same day, before she could commit the most intimate act she had ever thought of, he spoke of a sparkling jewel in a land far away.
I'm going to search for that jewel. That when I return with it, I should hope we could finally lay eyes upon each other, and once and for all become lovers!
I need no jewel to understand that we were put in this world for each other. But if that is what you wish, then I cannot stop you from atop this tower.
The Trader gave another exclamation of his love before promising to return.
Years passed, and The Princess never saw sight, sound, nor word from The Trader. Whether he truly went in search of that jewel is something no one could say for certain.
Her Soul yearned night after night for her long lost lover, until she finally gave her last breath.
It is said that the last bit of her Mana wanders the night sky and that, under a full moon, her love for The Trader gives The Moon Rose its illustrious sparkle.
The Moon Rose has been lost to time, but if one were to happen to stumble upon its glistening lavender petals, surely it is a sign that their love was true.
And that is
The Legend of The Moon Rose.
